In the article the main areas of water resources development in the light of the objectives of the Water Strategy of the Russian Federation entirely supply ensuring socio-economic development of regions of the country until 2020 are considered.
The characteristic of the water of the Russian regions to water-retaining capacity output and specific indicators of wastewater is proposed. The estimation of water use efficiency, indicated the problems of achieving the targets in the regions in accordance with the Water Strategy assessed.
