Chembarisov E.I., Nasrulin A.B., Lesnik T.Yu. Application of Hydro-ecological Monitoring under Integrated Water Resources Management

The article examines experience in application of hydro-ecological monitoring for integrated water resources management in the Aral Sea basin by the Institute for Water Problems at the Uzbek Academy of Sciences during 1991-2012. The conducted monitoring of water bodies in this region by using information technologies allowed estimating the anthropogenic impact on water bodies in order to set measures for their conservation as a national heritage of the Republic of Uzbekistan and have possibility to use them for the purposes of water sector. The political and economic sustainability in Uzbekistan depends on efficient water use and environmental policy.
