Development of irrigated agriculture, intensification of agriculture, development of new land and improvement of already used agricultural land have led to increased use and regulation of water resources, transfer of flow to irrigation areas and construction of large and small reservoirs. By present, more than 68 reservoirs have been put into operation in the Republic of Uzbekistan.
