The book deals with the topical questions arisen during abandonment of ponds and small reservoirs. By present, many ponds and reservoirs have lost their economic value, the conditions of related hydraulic structures became bad, and their biocoenoses have come to critical state. 

The monograph illustrates methodological approaches to organization of discharge of water from reservoirs, assessment of scouring of bottom sediments in discharged reservoirs, evacuation of groundwater on edges, analyzes the experience of re-cultivation of disturbed ground and use of land resources in river valley, and gives appropriate recommendations.
