In April 2013, the Research Center of Space Hydrometeorology “Planeta” (FGBU “NITs ‘Planeta’”) restarted activities on satellite monitoring of the state and pollution of coastal waters in the Russian territory of the Azov and the Black Sea. This monitoring has been conducted annually during warm periods (April-October) since 2003. The state and pollution of water in the Russian territory of the Azov-Black Sea basin is planned to carry out for each ten-day period, each month, and the whole period of observation as in earlier periods. The outputs of such monitoring will be operational satellite information products, ten-day analytical reports, and monthly bulletins, as well as the final bulletin at the end of year. Since April 1 to 10, 2013 one hundred eighteenth images of the Russian sector of the Black Sea and Azov waters were received and processed. Those images were shot in optical and infrared ranges of electromagnetic spectrum by KMCC “Meteor-M” No.1 apparatus, spectroradiometers MODIS AQUA and TERRA, visible and infrared spectrum radiometers VIIRS SUOMI NPP, infrared radiometer AVHRR NOАA, and with the use of scatterometer ASCAT MetOp and radiometer SEVIRI METEOSAT-10.
