The paper presents the results of observations in 2012 over restoration of hydrological regime in one of degraded lakes in Volgo-Akhtubinsk floodplain - Sotovo Lake (Svetloyarsk district, Volgogradskaya province). The problem of water losses through evaporation and percolation during the first year of water accumulation in the lake is considered. Recommendations are given on restoration of natural flowage regime in the lake.
