The article is devoted to the flood risk management in the world and in Russia. The statistics of emergencies caused by floods throughout the world is analyzed. The experience of the U.S. and the European Union flood risk management is shown like the most advanced experience. For the conditions of Russia principles of flood risk management in the flooded areas are proposed.
