The paper presents the results of Buryatia zoning by the intensity of anthropogenic impact in the catchment basins supported by the description of types of economic activities and water management, the conclusion on interrelation of regional economic development and contamination of water bodies, the recommendations on mitigation of anthropogenic impact.
