Currently many countries and even regions all over the world face the challenge of freshwater management. Scarcity of water resources, their deteriorated quality, and sustainable water use policies have become the subjects of growing concern. Uzbekistan is the main consumer of water resources in the Aral Sea basin. Given the current shortage of water, middle- and long-term assessment of status of water is of the utmost interest, especially in the context of climate change.
