The article provides hydrochemical and hydrobiological characteristics of the Shershnevskoe reservoir — the water supply source of a large industrial center — Chelyabinsk city, in current conditions and multiyear aspect. It is shown that the current time in the reservoir there is a considerable deterioration in water quality in comparison with 80-ties of the previous century. It is followed by progressive water blooming, odors, colour-enhancing of water and general decrease of water quality.
