Public Corporation "Power Machines" and RusHydro signed a contract for the reconstruction of "turn key" of the second hydro Rybinskaya hydropower station (HPS) , said the report "Silmasha".

The beginning of equipment deliveries scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2012, ending - for the first quarter of 2013. Input-to-date hydro is scheduled for the third quarter of 2013.

"Under the contract "Power Machines" will design, manufacture and supply on the Rybinsk HPS  capacity of 65 MW of auxiliary equipment. Specialists of "Power Machines" will carry out the dismantling of old equipment that will provide services for the installation supervision, commissioning, commissioning of new equipment in operation and will guarantee tests. Hydropower capacity after renovation will be increased by 10 MW, which will improve its technical and economic indicators "- the report says.

Previously, "Power Machines" participated in the reconstruction of the Rybinsk HPS for which the period from 1998 to 2002 was manufactured and delivered two hydroelectric power for 63.2 MW. As a result, upgrading capacity of each hydropower rose by 8.2 MW and the installed capacity of hydro had increased to 346.4 MW.

This project continues the successful cooperation between "Power Machine" and "RusHydro" aimed at developing the domestic hydropower. Currently, the joint forces of hydropower and energomashinostroiteley, in addition to restoring the power plant, implemented several projects, including construction of Boguchanskaya  and Zagorskaya HPSs storage plant, as well as reconstruction of hydroelectric Voljskaya, Saratovskaya, Zhigulevskaya and Cheboksarskaya hydropower stations "- said in a statement.

Rybinskaya and Uglichskaya HPSs are formed a cascade of Upper Voljskaya HPS. Both are the oldest hydropower stations of the Voljsko-Kamskiy Cascade. Creating of the Uglichskiy and Rybinskiy hydroelectric units agreed task integrated transport and energy opportunities in the Upper Volga and was simultaneously launching of the radical restructuring of the rivers. In its scope and originality of the construction of hydro technical solutions had no analogues in world practice of hydraulic engineering in lowland rivers and rocky grounds.
