On the construction of a rock embankment of the Boguchanskaya HPS (hydropower station)  completed seasonal work for laying asphalt mixture in the diaphragm. Every year these works are suspended in early November at lower temperatures. Erection of side thrust prisms and dumping rock embankment continues throughout the year except in the coldest days in January and February.

In 2010 work on laying asphalt in the rock embankment of the Boguchanskaya HPS was resumed in April. During the construction season in the diaphragm is laid over 15000 cubic meters of asphalt, including the April-September - 13600 m3 in October and November - 1600 m3. The work plan for 2010 is made in full.

This is a unique engineering construction, the only one in Practice Water Engineering in Russia. Asphalt concrete mix is poured into a special formwork and does not fit in layers. Aperture of this design was first used in the harsh conditions of Siberia.
For the erection of the rock embankment of the Boguchanskaya HPS want to lay 37 million cubic meters of stone and soil, 143 000 m3 of asphalt concrete.

Completion of the Boguchanskaya HPS resumed in 2006, the company RusHydro's and UC RUSAL after the conclusion of the Agreement on a joint project to create Boguchansk Energy and Metals Association (BEMA), composed of the Boguchanskaya HPS established a design capacity of 3000 MW and an aluminum plant capacity of 600 thousand tons of metal per year. Phased launch nine hydraulic units of the Boguchanskaya hydropower station with access to its full capacity by 2013 is the foundation of public investment project "Integrated Development of the Lower Angara Region," which provided for the further development of natural-resource potential of the region, energy security optoelectronic system Siberia by attracting private investment. The work on the creation of the social, transport and energy infrastructure of the territory funded from the federal  and the Krasnoyarsk Territory budgets. Period of implementation of public-private project "Integrated Development of the Lower Angara area" is defined from 2006 to 2015-th years.
