Basin plan for integrated water resources management and conservation of the Aral-Syr Darya Basin

Integrated water resources management is the best practice of natural resource management and is one of the priorities of the UN International Decade of Water "Water for Life" (2005-2015). Implementation of IWRM is a long process of improving the system of decision-making at all levels of government. The main attention is focused on the coordinated management of water, land and related resources to achieve the best indicators of social and economic development in an equitable manner without harming the stability of vital ecosystems.
