The paper presents the characteristics of the ecological state of river waters of Azerbaijan. The quality of river water characterizes the ecological condition of both the water bodies, and the territory as a whole. Exceeding the maximum permissible concentration of iron content in water and petroleum products caused by natural and anthropogenic factors.
