When calculating the amount of evaporation from the Belgorod region analyzed evaporation rates and the area of water bodies (reservoirs, ponds, lakes) in i960 and 2010, the evaporation in 2010 exceeded i960, as an active construction of artificial reservoirs in the 70 - 80 s caused an increase in the volume of evaporation from the land of rising waters. The basin of the Oskol river in i960 and in 2010 is characterized by the largest volume of evaporation. The evaporation basin of the Seversky Donets and the Aydar rivers has substantially increased. The amount of water evaporated from the East River basin (the Tikhaya Sosna, the Chernaya Kalitva, the Potudan) remained virtually unchanged, which, together with a certain tendency towards aridity, aggravates the situation in the most water-scarce part of the area.
