Reservoir inflow simulation and estimation of the local water sources quality are actual and priority problems. Solution of these problems facilitates to increase the efficiency of local water resources use in Crimea. The aim of this study is to continue methodological research focused on appraisal and implementation of software tools for simulating water balance at the territories where water resources of piedmont watersheds are forming including the monitoring of their ecological state, revelation and analysis of the dynamics of the main factors impacting on the quality characteristics of water resources. To simulate quality and quantity indices of runoff and the state of water sources, open software products GIS and methodology for agro-hydrology simulation were used.

The article presents the results of appraisal of the open model MWSWAT for parameters of reservoir inflow, as well as the estimation of quality indices for runoff of the Salgir River in the zone where water resources of the city Simferopol forming and in the influence zone of city water cycle. The comparison of the computer simulation results and field observations, as well as the estimation of the quality of water resources using water pollution index, was done on the example of the Simferopol reservoir, which is multi-purpose and used besides irrigation, for drinking water supply and energy.

The article concludes by the use specifics of the new version of the model MWSWAT 2012, as well as recommendations for its use as one of the tools for integral management system of the city water cycle including the analysis of sufficiency of territory water supply and the estimation of scenario variants of its development including the estimation of the impact on quality and water resources availability.
