The Kazakhstan Institute for Strategic Studies under the President of the RK (KazISS) was established by the Decree of the President of RK on June 16, 1993.

Since its foundation the main mission of the Kazakhstan Institute for Strategic Studies under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, as a national think tank, is to maintain analitical and research support for the President of Kazakhstan.

The KazISS has form a pool of professional staff comprising a number of reputable experts in Political Science, History, Economics and Sociology. The Institute gained a reputation of the leading analytical center of the country.

The KazISS being a source of manpower provided the plaform for a great number of high-ranking officials of the Presidential Administration, Ministries and Agencies, Diplomatic Corps of the RK as well as wel-known professors of leading universities who started their career here.

University students of Almaty do the practical training at the KazISS on a regular basis, some of them later find their jobs at the Institute and other think tanks.

The Institute has created all favorable conditions for professional development and career growth of its staff facilitating successful attainment of Candidate's and Doctor's degrees.
